Trust
We are often asked “How do I know I can trust you?” The simple answer is you don't. Trust will develop as we have an ongoing relationship, but here are a few things with which to start. Confidentiality We have a confidentiality agreement that is used in conjunction with our privacy policy. From the first contact, whether you are a prospective client or an existing client, we consider you to be under the privacy and confidentiality umbrella of our firm. Registered investment advisers have a fiduciary duty to put clients’ interests above their own. A fiduciary has an obligation of utmost good faith and full and fair disclosure of all material facts to clients. Broker/dealers and their representatives do not necessarily have this duty. Your financial needs merit an advisor who acts as a fiduciary for you. We do what’s best for you, because you are the reason we are in business. In addition, the CFP® Board governs the practice of its professionals. They have a complaint process that is heavily weighted towards the consumer. Please check out their website at www.cfp.net. Compliance Additionally, there is a whole section of the financial services industry called Compliance. Compliance is all about abiding by the rules and protecting the customer. As part of those rules, you are already protected by our duty to your privacy and your confidentiality. References If requested, we will provide references of clients who have authorized us to give out their contact information in order to answer questions you might have. We ask that you respect their confidentiality as a courtesy to them. |
