Fred is a busy man who likes to watch over his own finances, but is so  busy raising two children, keeping up with his duties at Sandia Labs, and being an active member of his community, that he is unable to actively manage the financial side. He turned to us for help with retirement and college planning. He also wanted a trusted advisor in place to help his wife if anything should happen to him.

After completing projections for both his retirement and college funding, we identified that he was seriously underfunded in the life insurance area, and he arranged for a significant increase in term life insurance. 

We also recommended increasing his 401k funding, based upon Sandia pension plan weaknesses that played out the following year. We then realigned his Sandia 401k plan investment choices to more accurately reflect his life situation and risk tolerance. He subsequently asked us to manage all of his investment accounts, including giving ongoing input on the 401k. We also proposed an innovative solution to concerns about who would step in to be guardians for his children if needed.
