Sometimes life unfolds in ways we can’t anticipate. Beth came to us as a young widow who had suddenly and unexpectedly lost her husband. It was a horrible time for her, and there were a million decisions that had to be made – yet how can anyone be expected to make decisions in such a situation? Some days it seemed like every customer service rep was there to confuse and frustrate her, not to help her. 

​We helped her get tasks done on her schedule, and we were sensitive to her needs, her grief, and her ongoing pain. It was a slow process, but she is emerging as a stronger, more confident woman. Her generosity has helped fund a conference in memory of her husband that is dedicated to saving lives through education. She has a handle on her finances, even though she still considers learning about them “cruel and unusual punishment.” She is an amazing example of beauty from ashes.
